The match is part of Group 11, where the Congolese team aims to start their World Cup journey on a strong note.

Notably absent from the starting lineup is Fiston Mayele, the Pyramids FC striker, who will start the game on the bench.

This marks only the second time in history that the Democratic Republic of Congo has qualified for the World Cup, and their first appearance under this name. The last time they participated was over 40 years ago when they competed as Zaire.
