Egypt’s Prime Minister Clarifies State Ownership Policy
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister, emphasized that the state’s ownership policy document aims to clarify the government’s role across various economic sectors rather than just within individual companies. This initiative is designed to provide the private sector with a clearer understanding of the state’s involvement in each sector.
During a press conference, Madbouly explained that the state’s withdrawal from managing or leading a specific sector does not necessarily equate to the sale of all assets or subsidiaries within that sector. He highlighted that the state may still maintain its presence through partnerships or by holding investment stakes, while allowing private entities to manage and develop the sector.
