The Egyptian Fatwa Authority has affirmed that reciting Surah Al-Kahf at any time during Friday or its night is highly recommended in Islamic tradition. The time for this recitation begins at sunset on Thursday and continues until sunset on Friday.

The authority clarified that Muslims can read the surah quietly or aloud, depending on their convenience. It emphasized that reciting Surah Al-Kahf is one of the acts specifically associated with Friday, as highlighted by prophetic traditions.

It cited a narration from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): “Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on Friday, a light will shine for him from beneath his feet to the heavens, illuminating his path on the Day of Judgment, and his sins between the two Fridays will be forgiven,” as reported by Al-Bayhaqi.

The Fatwa Authority stressed that consistently reciting Surah Al-Kahf on Fridays is a recommended Sunnah that brings reward and allows believers to seize the blessings of this sacred day.
