The 18-year-old midfielder impressed during Morocco’s Group C opener against Brazil, contributing to a 1-1 draw at the MetLife Stadium.

Regarded as one of the most promising young talents in French football, Bouaddi had a standout season with Lille in 2025-26, helping the club achieve a third-place finish in Ligue 1 and secure qualification for the next Champions League.

Arsenal has been linked with Bouaddi for some time and is reportedly intensifying its efforts to sign him ahead of the summer transfer window. Recent reports indicate that the Gunners have identified him as a key target and have maintained communication with his representatives since January 2025.

The Times reports that Arsenal has initiated talks regarding a potential deal for the Lille midfielder, who is also attracting interest from Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite the swirling rumors about his future, Bouaddi remains focused on representing his country. “I’m really happy to know that some clubs are interested in me, but for now I’m only focused on the World Cup and we will try to give everything to do our best,” he said following the match against Brazil.

Having recently ended a 22-year wait for a Premier League title, Arsenal is laying the groundwork for another title challenge and preparing for an active summer transfer window. Manager Mikel Arteta has midfield options such as Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, and Myles Lewis-Skelly but aims to enhance depth and competition in this area.

The club has also been linked with West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes; however, reports suggest his £80 million valuation may be considered too high. Securing Bouaddi could also prove challenging, as Lille is hesitant to part with one of its star players. Additionally, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has noted that Liverpool has shown interest in the Moroccan international as well.
