Arsenal is reportedly intensifying its pursuit of Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. Following their recent success in ending a 22-year wait for a Premier League title, the Gunners are already strategizing for future enhancements to their squad under manager Mikel Arteta.

Bouaddi, who has risen through Lille’s academy system, has made an impressive impact at just 18 years old, with a total of 96 senior appearances for the club, including 42 during the current 2025-26 season.

According to Sky Switzerland, Arsenal has earmarked Bouaddi as one of their key midfield targets this summer. The North London club has been monitoring the young talent for several months and has maintained regular communication with his representatives since January 2025.

The Morocco international is gearing up for the upcoming 2026 World Cup and is regarded as one of the most promising young midfielders in French football. Arsenal is ramping up efforts to persuade him that a move to Emirates Stadium would be a pivotal step in his career development.

The report indicates that Arsenal is optimistic about overcoming competition from Paris Saint-Germain, with further discussions anticipated after the World Cup concludes. Arteta is expected to play a significant role in convincing Bouaddi, who is valued at approximately £60.4 million and has reportedly expressed interest in relocating to North London.

Why Arsenal Has an Advantage in Signing Bouaddi

One advantage for Arsenal is Lille’s inclination to sell players abroad rather than reinforce a direct domestic competitor, potentially giving the Gunners an edge over PSG. Bouaddi is among several names on Arsenal’s midfield shortlist, which also includes Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali.

Additionally, Arsenal is tracking Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers, although acquiring the England international may require a significant transfer fee. Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis has also emerged as a target recently, with reports suggesting that a deal worth around £34.5 million could be on the horizon.
