England’s Camp Recovers from Theft Incident Ahead of World Cup 2026
The England national football team has seen a positive turn of events following a theft incident that occurred just before the start of their campaign in the 2026 World Cup, currently taking place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
England is set to play its first match of the tournament against Croatia on Wednesday evening as part of the group stage.
Last Friday, the England delegation fell victim to a theft incident before arriving in Kansas City, where the team’s training camp is located for the duration of the tournament.
According to a report by BBC News, authorities successfully recovered most of the training equipment that was lost during the incident prior to the team’s preparatory program in the United States.
The theft targeted vehicles responsible for transporting equipment to the training facility at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, but fortunately, most of the stolen items were later retrieved.
The report noted that some sports shoes were among the stolen items; however, critical match footwear and essential equipment needed for the tournament were not affected by the incident.
Local police coordinated directly with officials from The Football Association on Friday evening to monitor the situation and take necessary actions. It is estimated that two individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident.
England players, under head coach Thomas Tuchel, are expected to hold their first full training session on Sunday as they finalize preparations for their opening match against Croatia in the World Cup.
