Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta in Talks with Christos Tzolis Following Impressive Season
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly in discussions with Christos Tzolis, a forward from Club Brugge, as the Gunners look to bolster their attacking options this summer.
Despite clinching the Premier League title, Arsenal is expected to pursue several new signings during the upcoming transfer window. The focus will likely be on enhancing their attacking lineup, particularly as the team prepares for next season.
With Leandro Trossard potentially moving away from North London, securing a new left winger could be at the top of Arteta’s agenda.
Greek journalist Dimitris Manakos has suggested that Tzolis is viewed as a prime candidate to fill that role, indicating that discussions between Arteta and the Greek international have already commenced.
Tzolis Eager for Move to Arsenal
The report highlights that the likelihood of finalizing Tzolis’s transfer is “very high,” although no specific fee has been disclosed. This comes even as the 24-year-old still has four years left on his contract with Club Brugge.
Tzolis had an outstanding 2025-26 season, registering 22 goals and 29 assists across 52 matches in all competitions. He previously played in England with Norwich City from the summer of 2021 to January 2023, where he scored three goals and provided two assists in 30 appearances.
Does Tzolis Fit Arsenal’s Needs?
As reigning Premier League champions and Champions League runners-up, there is a case for Arsenal to seek higher-profile signings. However, Tzolis’s career trajectory suggests he could be a valuable addition; he currently boasts nine goals in 34 appearances for the Greece national team.
Arteta may also value Tzolis’s versatility. He offers a younger alternative to Trossard and has shown potential, although he still needs to establish himself on larger stages. Notably, his performance in the Champions League includes three goals and four assists from 21 appearances, which is commendable for a player from a club like Club Brugge.
