Egypt’s Foreign Minister Welcomes US-Iran Agreement to De-escalate Regional Tensions

On Saturday, Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a phone call from Steve Wietkoff, the U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East. The discussion focused on the latest developments in the region.

The two officials addressed the current status of the U.S.-Iran negotiations and the recent communications aimed at reaching a desired agreement between the two nations. This agreement is expected to contribute to reducing tensions, ending conflicts, and ushering in a new era of security and stability in the region.

During the call, Minister Abdel Aty reiterated Egypt’s welcome of this agreement and emphasized Egypt’s commitment to collaborating with regional partners to achieve a final accord that considers all parties’ concerns. He stressed the importance of seizing this opportunity to end conflicts and support regional stability.

In response, Steve Wietkoff praised the intensive efforts made by regional parties, including Egypt, to reach this agreement. He expressed hope that it would enhance security and stability throughout the region.
