Health Ministry Conducts Daily Monitoring of Minya Facilities for Universal Health Insurance
The Primary Healthcare and Family Development Sector, in collaboration with the Central Administration for Projects and Equipment, conducted an intensive field visit to Minya Governorate last week to assess the readiness of healthcare facilities targeted for inclusion in the Universal Health Insurance system.
This visit was executed following directives from Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, and is part of the ongoing efforts by the ministry to prepare the second-phase governorates for joining the system.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the visit involved forming specialized field teams comprising approximately 60 members, who were deployed daily across healthcare facilities to monitor progress. Their tasks included evaluating technical and operational readiness, assessing actual needs at each facility, and addressing any obstacles to expedite preparations.
Abdel Ghaffar emphasized that daily field monitoring will continue in coordination with relevant authorities in the governorate to ensure compliance with established timelines and achieve high completion rates in preparation for the trial operation of the system.
Dr. Rasha Khidr, head of the Primary Healthcare and Family Development Sector, affirmed that these field efforts reflect the ministry’s commitment to providing comprehensive technical and operational support to facilities while ensuring the availability of necessary medical personnel according to recognized standards. She noted significant progress in Minya’s readiness levels, which supports the state’s goals for universal health coverage and improving service quality for citizens.
