Health Minister Praises Sweden’s Humanitarian Solidarity in Gaza
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, represented Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly at the National Day celebration of the Kingdom of Sweden held by the Swedish Embassy in Cairo. The event was attended by various diplomats and public figures.
In his speech, the minister conveyed heartfelt congratulations from Egypt’s political leadership, government, and people to the leadership and citizens of Sweden on this historic occasion.
He expressed Egypt’s pride in the growing strategic partnership between the two nations, which is founded on mutual respect and shared visions in human development, global peace, and economic prosperity.
Dr. Abdel Ghaffar highlighted that bilateral relations have gained significant momentum in recent years across various sectors, supported by joint efforts to enhance trade exchange, attract investments, and support Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development. He noted the successful collaboration in advanced technology, renewable energy, local industrialization, and capacity building as a model of international cooperation.
The minister also commended Sweden’s responsible international role and humanitarian solidarity in responding to the crisis in Gaza. He praised the ongoing relief efforts and coordination with Egypt, as well as Sweden’s direct medical contributions aimed at alleviating suffering and supporting regional stability.

Concluding his remarks, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar expressed Egypt’s optimism for the future of bilateral relations and its readiness to explore broader avenues for cooperation, particularly in public-private partnerships, green transformation, innovation, and joint scientific research. He reaffirmed the Egyptian government’s commitment to working alongside its Swedish counterpart to achieve progress and prosperity for both friendly nations.
In his address, Sweden’s Ambassador to Egypt, Dag Juhlin-Dannfelt, spoke about the significance of Midsummer and its connection to shared values. He noted that these values guide Sweden’s engagement with the world and shape its approach towards democracy, equality, and sustainable development both domestically and with global partners.
Dag Juhlin-Dannfelt emphasized Sweden’s commitment to supporting sustainable development, equality, and inclusive growth while highlighting the importance of partnerships in addressing global challenges such as climate change and green transformation.
The ambassador also underscored the contributions of Swedish companies operating in Egypt, stating that their work reflects Sweden’s innovative approach centered on sustainable solutions designed to support long-term development. He welcomed continued collaboration between Swedish and Egyptian partners in areas including clean energy, sustainable transportation, digitalization, and healthcare.
