Egypt’s Minister of Military Production Advocates for Global Industrial Innovation

Dr. Salah Suleiman Jumblatt, Egypt’s Minister of Military Production, emphasized the ministry’s commitment to supporting research ideas and innovations that link to manufacturing processes. He highlighted the importance of collaboration with academic and research institutions to enhance national industry.
This statement came during a meeting with an academic and student delegation specializing in smart manufacturing from the Production Engineering Department at Alexandria University, held at the ministry’s training sector in Madinat Al-Salam.
During the meeting, various research ideas and projects presented by students were discussed, exploring ways to develop them into practical industrial outputs with direct economic benefits. This aligns with the state’s goal of building an economy based on knowledge, innovation, and maximizing the benefits from scientific research outcomes.
Jumblatt noted that this approach is in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the national strategy for science, technology, and innovation. It aims to enhance the role of scientific research in supporting economic and industrial development while transforming knowledge into technological products and solutions that contribute to sustainable development.
The minister also expressed the ministry’s ongoing engagement with innovators and researchers from various universities and research centers. He assured that the ministry is prepared to provide technical, financial, and moral support necessary for implementing promising projects. He pointed out that the ministry has a developed industrial and technological base that can be leveraged to support innovative projects and turn them into value-added products or industrial solutions.
Additionally, Jumblatt mentioned that the Scientific and Technological Excellence Center affiliated with the Ministry of Military Production will study the research ideas submitted by students and work on their development in collaboration with experts in military production. This will prepare them for implementation based on their technical and economic viability.
The Minister highlighted that the ministry’s focus on linking scientific research with industry extends to supporting technical education systems. The ministry has established two applied technology schools aimed at preparing qualified technical personnel according to labor market needs, enhancing integration between education, scientific research, and industry while equipping future generations to engage with modern technologies.
He reiterated the ministry’s commitment to keeping pace with global trends in fourth industrial revolution fields and digital transformation, particularly in artificial intelligence applications and smart manufacturing. This initiative aligns with the national strategy for artificial intelligence aimed at leveraging modern technologies to support economic and industrial development while building a competitive digital economy.
In this context, Jumblatt expressed readiness within the Ministry of Military Production to adopt and support research ideas that maximize benefits from AI applications in developing production lines and smart products within military production companies. This approach serves both defense and civilian industries while enhancing local manufacturing capabilities and transferring advanced technologies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation from Alexandria University’s Faculty of Engineering expressed their appreciation for the Ministry of Military Production’s commitment to supporting innovative research ideas. They look forward to benefiting from the expertise and resources available within the ministry to develop their projects into successful industrial models serving society and the national economy.
