The two sides exchanged views on several regional issues of mutual interest. During the call, Abdel Atti emphasized the importance of maintaining Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity, supporting its national institutions, and rejecting the establishment of any parallel entities. He also highlighted the necessity of initiating a wholly Sudanese-led political process to end the ongoing conflict.

Furthermore, he stressed the need for a humanitarian ceasefire as a preliminary step towards achieving a sustainable cessation of hostilities, allowing humanitarian aid to reach those in need and alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people.

The conversation also addressed developments in Libya, where the Foreign Minister reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for Libya’s unity and stability. He underscored the importance of unifying national institutions and achieving a comprehensive political settlement through an inclusive Libyan dialogue that paves the way for simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible.

Regarding developments in the Horn of Africa, Abdel Atti reiterated Egypt’s steadfast position on preserving security and stability in the region, which directly relates to Egyptian national security. He emphasized the importance of supporting national institutions while upholding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, rejecting any policies that could undermine sovereignty or destabilize the region.

The issue of water was also discussed as an existential matter for Egypt, highlighting the critical need to respect international law and refrain from unilateral actions.
