Tottenham Hotspur Close to £60 Million Deal for Man City’s Savinho

Written byFerdous Saeed

Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly advancing in its efforts to secure Manchester City winger Savinho ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Following a narrow escape from relegation last season, Spurs are undergoing a significant rebuilding process under manager Roberto De Zerbi, with enhancing their attacking options identified as a key priority.

The North London club had shown interest in signing Savinho last summer, and the Brazilian was keen on the move; however, Manchester City blocked his transfer at that time.

Recent developments have changed the landscape considerably. Savinho has expressed frustration over his limited playing time and is now receptive to a transfer to Tottenham.

The 22-year-old faced challenges in establishing himself last season due to injuries and intense competition for places, and the addition of Antoine Semenyo has further complicated his chances of regular first-team action.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham is working towards finalizing a deal worth approximately £60 million for Savinho, despite Manchester City’s initial valuation being closer to £70 million.

The report indicates that discussions are ongoing regarding the deal’s structure, particularly concerning add-ons and performance-related bonuses.

With Pep Guardiola’s departure marking a new era for City, incoming manager Enzo Maresca is actively involved in shaping the club’s transfer strategy.

It is anticipated that City will seek another winger this summer, increasing the likelihood that Savinho could be sold to fund additional signings.

Tottenham has already bolstered De Zerbi’s squad with new arrivals including Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, and further additions are anticipated before the transfer window closes.

The club is also pursuing Brighton & Hove Albion defender Jan Paul van Hecke, reportedly discussing a deal valued at around £40 million for the Netherlands international.

Despite having two bids rejected for the centre-back, Tottenham remains hopeful that a third offer will convince Brighton to part with one of their key defenders.
