IATA Launches Global Program to Enhance Passenger Travel Experience
Frederic, IATA’s Senior Vice President of Products and Services.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that Virgin Atlantic is joining the PaxInsight program, which focuses on measuring passenger satisfaction. This move aims to enhance the airline’s presence in the transatlantic market while improving the overall travel experience and service quality for passengers.
PaxInsight is one of the latest tools utilized in the global aviation sector to gauge customer satisfaction. It tracks a traveler’s journey from booking and check-in to arriving at their final destination, evaluating over 60 factors including ease of procedures, comfort during the flight, and service quality.
The program allows participating airlines to compare their customer satisfaction levels with market averages and performance from competing airlines on the same routes. This contributes to increased competition and improved services for travelers.
IATA revealed that PaxInsight collected feedback from over 57,000 travelers last year, based on a survey methodology that uses representative samples across different travel classes and cities. Additionally, it enables airlines to access survey results within just five minutes of completion, allowing for swift responses to any feedback or changes in customer behavior.
Juha Jarvinen, Head of Customer Service at Virgin Atlantic, emphasized that the company continually relies on customer feedback to enhance its services and prioritize investments. He noted that joining the program would provide more accurate data and benchmark comparisons that support the company’s goal of offering one of the best travel experiences in the world.
Frederic Leger, IATA’s Senior Vice President of Products and Services, stated that accurate data and insights have become essential in modern aviation, particularly for understanding travelers’ needs and expectations. He added that the true value of PaxInsight lies in its ability to provide benchmark comparisons among airlines. The addition of new companies to the program enhances its benefits for the entire sector and contributes to improving air travel experiences for citizens and travelers worldwide.
This expansion is part of IATA’s strategy to develop data and analytics systems that assist airlines in making more efficient decisions, enhancing operational safety, improving service quality, and exploring growth opportunities in the global aviation market.
