Sudanese Transport Minister Praises Arab Academy for Sciences and Technology
Visit of Sudanese Transport Minister.
Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, welcomed Sudan’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Seif El Nasr El Tijani Haroun, along with his accompanying delegation at the academy’s headquarters in Sheraton. The meeting focused on exploring avenues for joint cooperation and enhancing coordination between the two parties in areas of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Kamel Bashir, Deputy Head of the Sudanese Diplomatic Mission in Egypt, Dr. Hossam Hussein, Deputy Permanent Representative, and several other officials including Suleiman Mustafa, a board member of Sudan Airways, Anwar Ishaq Suleiman, General Manager of the Sudanese River Transport Company, and Osman Haidar Abdel Hadi, the minister’s advisor.
From the academy’s side, a number of leaders and responsible centers were present to exchange views on areas of mutual cooperation and future opportunities between both sides.
During the meeting, Minister Seif El Nasr El Tijani Haroun praised the pioneering role played by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport as a comprehensive educational institution. He highlighted it as one of the leading Arab institutions specializing in education and its significant contributions to supporting education, training, engineering consultations, and serving joint Arab efforts.
In response, Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar presented an overview of the major developments and achievements that the academy has accomplished recently. He emphasized the qualitative leap it is experiencing across various academic, technological, and research fields. The presentation also addressed the advanced capabilities possessed by the academy and its esteemed international accreditations, alongside its strategic partnerships with major global institutions and universities that enhance its status as a leading Arab and international center of expertise.



The two sides also discussed future collaboration opportunities and mechanisms for exchanging expertise and knowledge to support common goals and sustainable development efforts.
