Egypt and Sudan Foreign Ministers Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Egypt and Sudan Foreign Ministers.

On Saturday, Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, welcomed Mr. Mohi El-Din Salem, the Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, for a meeting aimed at ongoing consultation and coordination between the two nations.

Sayed Tamim Khalaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the meeting highlighted the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Egypt and Sudan. Both ministers expressed their mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and developing cooperation across various sectors to serve the interests of both nations and their peoples.

During the meeting, Minister Abdel Aati reiterated Egypt’s steadfast support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national institutions. He emphasized the importance of achieving a humanitarian ceasefire that leads to a lasting cessation of hostilities and resumption of political processes while ensuring humanitarian access to affected areas. He also stressed respect for Sudanese ownership of the political solution and highlighted the significance of international quartet efforts in supporting stability and ending conflict.

The Sudanese Foreign Minister expressed gratitude for Egypt’s support at various levels, appreciating Egypt’s positions that reinforce Sudan’s unity and stability. He also outlined the efforts undertaken by the Sudanese government to address current challenges, reaffirming his commitment to continued coordination and consultation with Egypt in the upcoming phase for the benefit of both countries.
