International Islamic Thought Forum.

The International Islamic Thought Forum, launched by Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Awqaf and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, continues to solidify its status as a global scientific platform. Held at the Imam Hussein Mosque in Cairo, the forum gathers scholars, thinkers, and students from around the world, embodying Egypt’s mission to promote enlightened moderate thought and build sound awareness while enhancing intellectual and knowledge bridges between scientific and religious institutions globally.

The successive editions of the forum have witnessed increasing scientific engagement from universities and research centers outside Egypt. Participation has not been limited to direct attendance or online following; several academic institutions have dedicated classrooms for organized group attendance of its sessions. The topics discussed have become subjects for debate and study in educational and religious environments across multiple countries.

In this context, the Dar Al-Uloom Al-Muhammadiyah Al-Ghawthiyah and the Center for Reviving Hadith in Pakistan have allocated classrooms for students and researchers to follow the forum’s activities under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Naeem Al-Azhari, Head of the Arabic Language Department at Al-Karam University, and Dr. Nadeem bin Sadiq Al-Aslami. This reflects the level of interest that institutions outside Egypt have in the forum’s activities.

Moreover, several scientific institutions have transformed their follow-up into organized academic events involving students, researchers, and faculty members to discuss scientific and intellectual issues presented during the sessions. This enhances knowledge acquisition and contributes to reinforcing values of awareness and sound understanding.

The impact of the forum extends beyond scientific follow-up; some universities and educational institutions have begun integrating lectures by Dr. Osama Al-Azhari into their educational programs. Some topics have been included in academic activities, with certain institutions assessing students on the intellectual content presented in these lectures, reflecting their significant academic value.

Notably, Madinatu Al-Thaqafah Al-Islamiyyah University in India has benefited from several topics covered during the forum’s lectures in its educational programs, incorporating some into its academic activities as a testament to international academic institutions’ appreciation for the scientific content provided by the forum.

Additionally, sessions from the forum have garnered considerable attention from the Sunna Culture Center University in Kerala, India. Founded by Sheikh Abu Bakr Ahmad – Secretary-General of the Association of Scholars of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah in India – this Islamic university currently has 1,308 students who have graduated over 15,000 alumni with a faculty comprising 14 scholars. The university has actively followed up on forum events to benefit from its scientific themes in its educational programs.

The International Islamic Thought Forum is distinguished by its rigorous methodology based on primary sources from Islamic heritage literature while linking them to contemporary issues and cultural challenges. Key themes include human development, national belonging enhancement, value systems consolidation, combating extremism and ideological deviation—elements that have rendered its lectures particularly significant among universities and research institutions.

Reports from various countries indicate that universities are organizing collective follow-ups for forum sessions within their classrooms with large attendance from students, researchers, and faculty members—underscoring the expanding influence of the forum beyond Egyptian borders.

The sessions have seen widespread circulation across various academic platforms globally as scholars engage with Dr. Osama Al-Azhari’s scholarly contributions regarding human development issues, value systems enhancement, national belonging reinforcement, combating extremism, and reviving civilizational meanings within Islamic heritage—broadening access to content from the forum within academic circles.

This growing international presence confirms that the International Islamic Thought Forum has transcended temporal and spatial limitations becoming a global platform for intellectual dialogue and knowledge exchange among scholars worldwide. Its topics resonate increasingly within classrooms across numerous universities and specialized centers.
