Giza Intensifies Efforts to Clear Streets of Obstructions and Sorting Activities
Dr. Ahmed El Ansary, the Governor of Giza, is overseeing the efforts of the Boulaq Dakrour district in collaboration with the General Authority for Cleaning and Beautification to enhance cleanliness on Ter’it Zanin and Ter’it El Zomor streets.
The governor reaffirmed the province’s commitment to achieving a comprehensive transformation in the waste management system across various neighborhoods, centers, and cities within Giza. This initiative aims to maximize available resources and explore effective methods to eliminate negative phenomena contributing to waste accumulation, particularly focusing on scavengers and sorting activities.

In line with the governor’s directives, several cleaning, beautification, and obstruction removal campaigns have been launched along both streets. These efforts aim to eliminate sorting activities and curb the presence of scavengers while removing accumulated waste from various points along each street, following monitoring activities.
The campaigns successfully dismantled sorting points and improved site conditions by clearing debris and sweeping sidewalks and roadways, enhancing overall site conditions. Additionally, waste accumulation beneath Kamel Amer Axis is being addressed to improve traffic flow in that area.
The campaigns also effectively removed all forms of obstruction and violations by vendors and shops. This included removing dilapidated vehicles, unauthorized swings, illegal kiosks, unlicensed display windows, confiscating their contents, and depositing them in district storage facilities while imposing legal fines on their owners.
