Egypt and Algeria Discuss Educational Cooperation and Experience Sharing

Mohamed Abdel-Latif, Egypt’s Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with Nassima Arhab, Algeria’s Minister of Vocational Training and Education, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise between the two countries in the fields of technical education and vocational training.

According to a press statement released on Friday, this meeting aims to strengthen Arab cooperation in education and vocational training. It is part of a series of intensive bilateral meetings that the minister is holding with his counterparts participating in the Mediterranean Technical and Vocational Education Forum, which commenced today in the New Administrative Capital with representatives from 13 countries.

The discussions included extensive talks on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Algeria in technical education and vocational training, as well as sharing successful experiences that contribute to developing human resource preparation systems according to local, regional, and international labor market requirements.

During the meeting, the minister highlighted Egypt’s experience in reforming its pre-university education system, particularly in technical education, which is a key focus in Egypt’s strategy for building a qualified workforce capable of competing effectively.

The minister also addressed the ministry’s efforts in updating curricula based on professional competency standards and expanding the establishment of applied technology schools in partnership with the private sector and development partners. This initiative aims to provide high-quality technical education directly linked to labor market needs while equipping graduates with essential technical and technological skills.

He emphasized the significance of international and regional partnerships that Egypt is implementing in technical education. These partnerships are fundamental for transferring knowledge, applying best global practices, and providing greater opportunities for practical training and employment for graduates.

For her part, the Algerian Minister expressed her eagerness to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences between both sides in the upcoming period to serve the mutual interests of both nations.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing coordination and collaboration while sharing successful experiences in technical education and vocational training. This cooperation aims to support sustainable development efforts and prepare generations capable of meeting future demands.
