Egyptian Consulate in Frankfurt Celebrates ‘Egyptian Day’ and 46 Years of Friendship
The city of Frankfurt, Germany, recently hosted the “Egyptian Day,” a vibrant cultural and artistic celebration reflecting the deep historical ties and enduring friendship between Cairo and Frankfurt. This event marked the 46th anniversary of the signing of the sister city agreement between Cairo and Frankfurt in 1979, with notable sponsorship from Air Cairo.
Ambassador Amin Hassan, the Egyptian Consul General in Frankfurt, emphasized that the event was organized in collaboration with the Frankfurt municipality to promote cultural and civilizational exchange between both sides, highlighting the historical connections between the Egyptian and German peoples.
The festivities included cultural performances showcasing the richness and diversity of Egyptian civilization, attracting a large turnout from the Egyptian community and those interested in Egyptian culture in Germany.
Air Cairo, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, served as the official sponsor for “Egyptian Day” in Frankfurt. This partnership underscores its role as a national supporter of initiatives that enhance Egypt’s presence on the international stage and foster communication between diverse cultures. The company’s backing for this event reflects its commitment to promoting Egypt as a global tourist and cultural destination while supporting travel and tourism links between European markets and Egyptian attractions.
In this context, Hussein Sherif, Chairman of Air Cairo, stated: “We are proud to sponsor Egyptian Day in Frankfurt, which serves as an important platform for strengthening cultural and human ties between Egypt and Germany, reflecting the depth of historical relations between Cairo and Frankfurt.”.
He added that Air Cairo remains dedicated to expanding its international flight network, connecting European markets with various Egyptian destinations, thereby supporting both tourism and aviation sectors while enhancing Egypt’s presence in global markets.
Air Cairo operates over 125 weekly flights to more than ten German cities including Düsseldorf, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, among others.
The organization of “Egyptian Day in Frankfurt” reaffirms the fruitful cooperation between Cairo and Frankfurt as both sides strive to strengthen cultural and human connections that serve mutual interests and support enduring friendships between the two cities.
