Barcelona’s Roony Bardghji Targeted by Six Premier League Clubs

Written byFerdous Saeed

Barcelona’s promising talent Roony Bardghji has reportedly become a sought-after player for six Premier League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old Swedish international has been recognized as one of the brightest prospects in European football since making his debut with Copenhagen. His performances in Denmark prompted Barcelona to acquire him, where he made a total of ten starts and 18 substitute appearances during his inaugural season with the Catalan club.

As Barcelona aims to bolster its attacking options, they have already secured Anthony Gordon from Everton and are linked with Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez. These moves have led to speculation that the club may be open to transferring Bardghji.

Premier League Interest in Bardghji

According to TEAMtalk, Barcelona is willing to sell Bardghji, who was signed for approximately £2 million. The young player is reportedly interested in a loan move, hoping to prove his value to Barcelona in the long term.

Aston Villa is among the most prominent clubs interested in Bardghji, along with Sunderland and Brighton & Hove Albion, both of which are anticipated to participate in European competitions. Brentford, Everton, and Leeds United are also keen on engaging in discussions regarding his potential transfer.

Barcelona’s Strategic Move?

Bardghji deserves recognition for his successful return from a serious knee injury sustained in 2023, which played a part in his transfer to Barcelona. His acquisition was seen as a significant investment for the club due to both financial factors and his potential upside.

However, Barcelona may view selling him as an opportunity to recoup at least five times their initial investment, a strategy that aligns with La Liga’s financial regulations. Despite this business rationale, it may seem harsh on Bardghji, who managed two goals and four assists during the 2025-26 season despite limited playing time across all competitions.

If any Premier League club secures Bardghji’s signature, it could be considered a savvy move in the transfer market.
