Egypt’s Labor Minister Discusses Cooperation with Algerian and Sudanese Counterparts

During the ongoing 114th International Labour Conference in Geneva, Egypt’s Minister of Labor, Hassan Raddad, held bilateral meetings with Algerian Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security Professor Abdelhak Sayhi, and Sudanese Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Moatasem Ahmed Saleh. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest, supporting Arab and international labor initiatives as directed by political leadership.

The meeting with the Algerian counterpart explored ways to activate collaboration between Egypt and Algeria across various labor sectors. Both parties exchanged expertise and best practices in vocational training, employment relations, labor inspection, and occupational health and safety.

They emphasized the importance of implementing memoranda of understanding signed between the two nations to reflect developments in labor market activities.

Additionally, discussions with the Sudanese minister centered on professional training cooperation. This included developing training curricula, executing trainer development programs, and fostering institutional twinning between relevant agencies in both countries. They also aimed to leverage the expertise of the National Center for Occupational Safety and Health Studies to build capacities and promote a culture of occupational safety, contributing to a safe and decent work environment.
