Written byNoha El Shafie

Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, announced the opening of the “Diarnna Crafts and Heritage Fair” under the slogan “Egypt Speaks Craft” in Marina 4 on the North Coast, starting July 1 and running until August 31.

The Minister emphasized that this year’s fair features over 450 exhibitors representing more than 25,000 benefiting families. The event aims to empower artisans and support productive families, while also creating a significant shift in their circumstances by adopting a sustainable economic empowerment approach. This initiative seeks to build an integrated economic system that ensures artisans are incorporated into competitive markets and enhances their financial independence.

Participants will showcase local handmade products that narrate the stories of Egyptian heritage, including carpets, kilims, stained glass, wicker products, cotton textiles and clothing, accessories and silver items, wooden and brass products, leather goods, perfumes, and other environmentally friendly heritage products. These offerings come from productive families, cooperatives, and the “Mostora” project funded by the Nasser Social Bank, as well as from the Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund.

The fair will also feature various services suited to the North Coast atmosphere. Visitors will have access to ATMs for easy purchases and complimentary internet service available for both exhibitors and attendees within the fairgrounds.

Diarnna is one of Egypt’s largest crafts fairs, hosting artisans from across the nation with the goal of supporting the creative economy. Since its inception in 1964, it has enabled local artisans to access new markets and achieve direct sales opportunities.

The Diarnna Fair serves as a cultural hub for North Coast visitors, celebrating authentic arts while providing direct sales opportunities for artisans over a span of 60 days.
