Paraguay secured a crucial victory against Turkey with a score of 1-0 in a match held at the San Francisco Stadium during the second round of Group D in the 2026 World Cup.

This defeat means Turkey exits the tournament early, having suffered two consecutive losses, first to Australia in their opening match and now to Paraguay.

Paraguay’s sole goal came just 65 seconds into the game, scored by Matías Galarza with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area that the Turkish goalkeeper failed to save. This goal marks the fastest in World Cup history.
