Qatar’s Lineup Led by Afif for World Cup 2026 Match Against Canada
Julián Lopetegui, the head coach of the Qatar national team, has announced the official lineup for the Maroon as they prepare to face Canada in a match scheduled for Friday morning at BC Place Stadium. This encounter is part of the second round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 2026 World Cup is being held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, featuring 48 teams. The tournament commenced on June 11 and will conclude on July 19.
The match between Canada and Qatar will kick off at 1:00 AM Cairo and Saudi Arabia time, and at 2:00 AM UAE time.
Qatar’s Lineup for the Match Against Canada
Goalkeeper: Mahmoud Abu Nida.
Defenders: Ayoub Al-Awi, Pedro Miguel, Boualem Khoukhi, Hamam Al-Amin.
Midfielders: Issa Lay, Asem Madiabo, Jassim Jaber.
Forwards: Akram Afif, Edmilson Junior, Youssef Abdel Razak.
In their opening match of the World Cup, both Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina started with a draw, ending in a 1-1 tie at BMO Field in Toronto as part of Group B’s first round. Meanwhile, Qatar secured a valuable point by drawing 1-1 with Switzerland thanks to a late goal during their match at Levi’s Stadium in California.
