Ministry of Local Development.
The Ministry of Local Development and Environment has announced the upgrade of its air quality monitoring system by incorporating more advanced and precise devices as part of the “Air Pollution Management and Climate Change in Greater Cairo” project.
Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Environment, stated in a press release today that this project marks the first time Egypt will measure ultra-fine particles (PM1), alongside measurements for particles smaller than 2.5 micrometers (PM2.5) and those under 10 micrometers (PM10).
She added that these measurements will provide a more comprehensive and accurate picture of air pollution levels and their health impacts, supporting the government’s efforts to protect public health and improve environmental quality.
