Egypt’s Foreign Minister Discusses Regional Developments with Six Counterparts

Egypt’s Foreign Minister and Counterparts from Six Countries.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has engaged in phone conversations with his counterparts from several countries to discuss regional developments.

In a statement, the ministry noted: “Phone calls were made between the Foreign Minister and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, and Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan on Tuesday, June 16.”.

The statement continued: “Minister Abdel Aty also met with Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Évian.”.

Furthermore, it was highlighted that Minister Abdel Aty discussed with his counterparts the regional situation following the announcement of an agreement between the United States and Iran and the preparations underway for its signing. The discussions also covered the future of security arrangements in the Middle East and the governing principles for these arrangements in the coming phase.
