Prime Minister Emphasizes Urgency in Renewable Energy Projects
Prime Minister Reviews Energy Project Updates.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly convened a meeting to discuss the latest developments in new and renewable energy projects.
The meeting included Engineer Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Engineer Hassan Allam, Chairman of Hassan Allam Holding Company, Engineer Amr Hosny, General Manager of Energy and Water Projects Development at Hassan Allam Utilities, Mokhtar Abu Al-Ata, Head of North Africa Development Sector at Infinity, and Hisham El-Gamal, General Manager of Infinity Capital.
The Prime Minister opened the meeting by highlighting its purpose: to monitor the execution status of ongoing projects in the renewable energy sector. He noted that these projects are under continuous supervision and that significant investments have been made in this vital sector to diversify energy sources and increase the contribution of renewable energies to the overall energy mix.
Madbouly emphasized the crucial role of both global and local companies as key partners in implementing the national plan to enhance renewable energy projects. He stressed the importance of accelerating the execution of signed projects between the Ministry of Electricity and the attending companies.
Minister Esmat reaffirmed that the ministry is operating under a national strategy aimed at increasing renewable energy contributions while improving energy efficiency. He also mentioned efforts to expedite new project implementations and update the national grid to enhance its capacity for additional power intake. These initiatives are part of the government’s plan for sustainable development and ensuring energy security.
Engineer Esmat also pointed out the importance of expanding energy storage systems as a key element in stabilizing the electrical grid and maximizing benefits from renewable energies. He emphasized that the private sector is a vital partner in executing renewable energy projects and assured that the ministry will continue to support and increase private sector participation in this crucial area.
During this session, he reviewed the execution status of new and renewable energy projects, including progress rates and supply schedules.
Engineer Esmat provided an overview of projects being implemented in collaboration with the ministry and participating companies.
Engineer Hassan Allam stated their commitment to meet deadlines agreed upon with the Ministry of Electricity regarding project completions. He noted that regional events have impacted supply chains while also discussing timelines for various project completions.
Mokhtar Abu Al-Ata expressed appreciation for ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Electricity, affirming their commitment to execute projects within their respective timelines.
