Mohamed Soliman Proud to Represent Egypt in World Cup, Thanks Zamalek for Support
Mohamed Soliman, the goalkeeper for the Egypt national team, expressed his immense joy at being included in the squad for the 2026 World Cup. He emphasized that reaching this milestone was the result of a long journey filled with hard work, and he extended his gratitude to Zamalek SC for its role in his career.
His comments came after Egypt’s 1-1 draw with Belgium in their opening match of Group G, where both teams earned a point as they kicked off their respective campaigns.
Egypt took the lead through Imam Ashour, but Belgium managed to equalize in the second half, resulting in a positive outcome for the Pharaohs.
In a television interview following the match, Soliman noted that feeling nervous during an opening game is natural given the strength of the opponent and the importance of starting well in the tournament. He mentioned that the team’s goal was to secure a victory from the very beginning.
Soliman added, “My inclusion in the Egypt national team has been long overdue; I was not able to participate in the 2018 World Cup. I am thankful to Zamalek SC for significantly contributing to my journey here with the national team.”.
He concluded by expressing his happiness with his teammates’ performance during the match, stating that he felt like a part of the team on the field, even though he did not play.
