The match ended in a tie after Saudi Arabia initially took the lead with a goal from Abdulilah Al-Amri in the 41st minute, only for Maxi Araújo to equalize for Uruguay in the 80th minute.

In comments reported by FIFA’s official website, Al-Dosari stated that the Saudi team had a strong start to the tournament, emphasizing that they deserved to secure all three points against Uruguay.

He added, “We believe in our ability to advance step by step to the next round. We are here to compete and achieve significant results in the World Cup, not just to participate.”.

The Saudi star highlighted the need to correct mistakes in upcoming matches to enhance the team’s chances of reaching the knockout stages, stressing the importance of learning from their encounter with Uruguay.

Al-Dosari concluded his remarks by noting that this is not his first World Cup appearance and pointed out that the team demonstrated a strong character during the match, despite not achieving the victory they had hoped for.
