The Egyptian Dar Al-Iftaa has officially announced that the first day of Muharram for the year 1448 AH will be on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. This follows the sighting of the crescent moon after sunset on Monday, the 29th of Dhul-Hijjah, 1447 AH, which corresponds to June 15, 2026.
The announcement was based on the results obtained from legitimate and scientific committees across the country that confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon.
On this auspicious occasion, Dar Al-Iftaa extended its heartfelt congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and wished him continued health and well-being. The organization also congratulated the Egyptian people, all heads of Arab and Islamic states, their kings and princes, as well as Muslims worldwide. They prayed for blessings, goodness, security, and peace to return to Egypt and all nations during these blessed days.
