Alexandria Governorate Completes Expansion and Development of El-Horreya Road

Expansion and development works on El-Horreya Road.

The Alexandria Governorate has completed the expansion and development of El-Horreya Road, one of the key traffic arteries in the area. The project spans approximately 3.7 kilometers, stretching from Ibrahimiyya to the Ministry area.

The works included reorganizing traffic at several intersections and implementing comprehensive engineering expansions, increasing the road’s capacity to four lanes in each direction. This upgrade accommodates the growing traffic volume, facilitates smoother vehicle flow, reduces daily travel times, alleviates congestion, and enhances service levels along the corridor.

Moreover, the improvements directly enhance road safety and security, lower fuel consumption, and reduce environmental emissions, supporting the government’s goals for more sustainable and efficient urban areas.

As part of the ongoing development efforts, ground planning has been completed under the supervision of the Planning and Technical Research Department of Alexandria Traffic Management, adhering to Egyptian standards for road coordination elements. This aims to improve traffic clarity and maximize road usage efficiency while minimizing accidents.

This initiative aligns with directives from political leadership and Egypt’s vision for infrastructure enhancement aimed at improving citizens’ quality of life. It reflects a significant achievement under the leadership of Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Alexandria, contributing to the city’s comprehensive development efforts.
