Own Goal Gives USA Early Lead Against Paraguay in World Cup Match

The United States men’s national soccer team took an early lead against Paraguay with an own goal during their match at the Los Angeles stadium on Saturday morning, part of the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The goal came just seven minutes into the game when Paraguayan player Damian Bobadilla inadvertently redirected a dangerous cross into his own net while attempting to clear it.

The match kicked off at 4:00 AM Cairo and Saudi time, or 5:00 AM UAE time. The tournament began last Thursday and will run until July 19, featuring 48 teams from around the globe.

Attack: Almiron, Sanabria, Enciso.

The World Cup draw held at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington placed Paraguay in Group D alongside the USA, Australia, and Turkey.
