In a thrilling encounter at BC Place, the Canadian national team scored its fifth goal against Qatar during their World Cup 2026 match on Thursday. This goal came as part of the second round of matches in the tournament.
The World Cup 2026 is being jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, featuring 48 teams. The tournament commenced on June 11 and will conclude on July 19.
Canada’s fifth goal was a result of an own goal by Qatari defender Mohammed Al-Moani. He attempted to clear a powerful shot from Tajon Buchanan but inadvertently directed the ball into his own net.
