On Thursday, Daqahlia Governor Tarek Marzouk inaugurated the “Mansoura Transport System” by launching ten new VIP buses aimed at enhancing the public transportation system in Mansoura. The event was attended by Deputy Governor Dr. Hussein Maghrabi, General Supervisor of Bus Stations Major General Amr Abdel Rahman, and Collective Transport Director Accountant Ahmed El Bandari.
Governor Marzouk emphasized that this initiative is part of the governorate’s efforts to improve collective transport services and provide safe and modern transportation options for residents traveling to and from their homes. During a tour of the buses, he stressed to the drivers the importance of adhering to designated routes and passenger limits, prohibiting any excess riders under any circumstances.
The governor also highlighted the necessity for drivers to treat passengers well and maintain service quality within the buses. He remarked, “You are the first face of this project and its key to success; you must promote a positive image of the system and ensure it continues to provide excellent service for Daqahlia residents while avoiding past transportation issues for our community.”.

Governor Marzouk detailed that the first phase of the system will operate on three main routes: Sandoub-University, Talkha-University, and Gedila-University, with a unified fare of 10 Egyptian pounds per trip. He noted that the new buses will be equipped with air conditioning, internet access, comfortable seating, and designated stops, operating from 7 AM until midnight.
He added that following a successful trial period for the “Mansoura Transport System,” additional buses will be introduced to cover all routes in the city adequately, preventing overcrowding and reducing wait times for passengers.
Furthermore, Governor Marzouk indicated that inspection campaigns will be conducted to ensure compliance with designated routes and regular maintenance checks on vehicles. There will also be periodic health assessments for drivers. A connection between the company’s operations room and the governorate’s operations room will be established to monitor performance continuously as part of efforts to implement a distinguished transport project serving local residents.
