Harry Kane: World Cup 2026 is Our Best Chance to Achieve Glory

Written byFerdous Saeed

English star Harry Kane has declared that the 2026 FIFA World Cup represents his best opportunity to fulfill his dream of winning the title with the England national team. He also acknowledged that this could be his final appearance in the tournament.

In an interview with ITV Sport, the England captain expressed his team’s ambitions, stating that this World Cup offers “the best chance in his career” to secure the trophy, especially as England approaches the end of a nearly 60-year drought without major international titles.

Kane reflected on past near-misses, emphasizing that the current generation has a genuine opportunity to change their fortunes. He noted that football is unpredictable and highlighted that injuries or unforeseen circumstances could make this tournament his last international outing, despite his desire to continue playing for several more years.

Responding to criticism regarding England’s heavy reliance on him for goals, Kane explained that such expectations are typical for any prominent striker. He cited examples like Erling Haaland with Norway and Kylian Mbappe with France, where national teams depend significantly on their attacking stars.

Kane concluded by asserting that having a leading goal scorer is not a weakness but rather a strength for any team aspiring to win major championships.
