Egypt Wins Best Design Award at Seoul International Tourism Fair
Seoul International Tourism Fair.
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, participated in the Seoul International Tourism Fair (SITF 2026) in South Korea, recognized as one of the most significant tourism exhibitions in the Korean market.
The Egyptian pavilion was inaugurated by H.E. Hazem Zaki, Egypt’s Ambassador to South Korea, in the presence of distinguished international guests and prominent leaders from the global travel industry. Also present was Abdel Hamid Lashin, Director of the Asia and Pacific Unit at the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Hazem Zaki praised the exceptional participation of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion. He emphasized that this strong presence reflects Egypt’s growing media and diplomatic momentum on a global scale, especially as the country reshapes its international tourism landscape to reclaim its rightful position as a leading competitive destination.
Dr. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, highlighted the strategic importance of this exhibition as a vital platform for building connections with rapidly growing East Asian markets. He noted it as an excellent opportunity to showcase Egypt’s unique tourism diversity and to forge sustainable partnerships that position Egypt as the top choice for Korean travelers interested in history and modernity.
During the exhibition, Abdel Hamid Lashin conducted several bilateral meetings and professional encounters with representatives from major Korean tourism companies, airlines, and public relations agencies to establish frameworks for cooperation aimed at boosting tourist traffic from Korea to Egypt.
The Egyptian pavilion attracted considerable public interest from the very first minutes of the exhibition’s opening. Participants noted an exceptional interest from tour operators and representatives of international airlines, who confirmed increasing demand indicators for Egypt’s culturally rich and diverse travel offerings.


The Egyptian pavilion was awarded the Best Pavilion Design at the fair. It also hosted visits from official delegations and high-profile international figures who expressed admiration for its visual identity and innovative architectural design. The pavilion successfully provided an immersive experience showcasing Egyptian hospitality along with its rich historical and cultural heritage.
