Ahly Set to Announce New Head Coach Soon, Confirms Ahmed Shobeir
Ahmed Shobeir, a prominent sports broadcaster, has revealed that Al Ahly SC is on the verge of officially announcing their new head coach, who will succeed Danish manager Jes Torup, who recently departed from his position.
In a post on his official Facebook account, Shobeir stated: “Contracts have been signed, and preparations are underway for the announcement of Al Ahly’s new coach very soon,” indicating that negotiations have reached their final stages.
The club’s management has intensified its efforts in recent days to review several resumes of foreign coaches to select the most suitable candidate to lead the team in the upcoming phase and continue competing for various domestic and continental titles.
The list of potential candidates includes several notable names, with Walid Regragui leading the pack. Regragui achieved significant success with the Moroccan national team, guiding them to a historic performance in the 2022 World Cup. Another contender is Hussein Amouta, who brings extensive experience in Arab football and boasts numerous coaching achievements.
Portuguese coach Carlos Carvalhal has also emerged as a candidate, leveraging his extensive experience in European football, having previously managed several clubs including Celta Vigo and Olympiacos.
