Hossam Ammouta Emerges as Contingency Option for Al Ahly Amid Coach Negotiations
A source within Al Ahly Club has revealed the latest developments regarding the search for a new head coach, indicating that the management has reached a preliminary agreement with Moroccan coach Hossam Ammouta to lead the team in the upcoming period.
The source, speaking exclusively to “Al-Aweek,” noted that there are still some final details under negotiation as the club aims to finalize the deal once a decision is made on the head coach.
According to the source, Ammouta ranks third on the list of candidates, following Portuguese coaches Carlos Carvalhal and Bruno Lage, who are currently considered the top two options by the club’s management.
Al Ahly is awaiting the outcome of ongoing negotiations with Carvalhal and Lage. Should an agreement not be reached with either of them, the club will activate its agreement with Ammouta to take over coaching responsibilities.
This move reflects Al Ahly’s efforts to select a foreign coach capable of revitalizing the team and restoring its competitive edge after a disappointing season last year.
