New Alamein Welcomes First TAROM Flight from Romania
The New Alamein Airport has welcomed its inaugural TAROM flight from Romania, marking the start of the summer 2026 season. The flight arrived carrying 179 passengers, adding a new destination to the city’s growing network of international routes.
This event highlights the ongoing success of New Alamein International Airport in attracting more international flights. The introduction of this new route coincides with the continuous growth in tourism activity in New Alamein and the North Coast, as interest from various international markets in visiting Egyptian destinations increases during the summer season. This trend reinforces the region’s status as a prominent tourist destination along the Mediterranean coast.
To celebrate the arrival of the first flight, Egyptian Airports Company organized a special welcome for both the aircraft and its passengers. The plane was greeted with a traditional water salute, while public relations staff welcomed travelers with flowers and souvenirs, showcasing Egyptian hospitality and the airport’s commitment to providing an exceptional arrival experience from the very start.
Looking ahead, TAROM plans to operate regular flights between Romania and New Alamein International Airport at a frequency of one flight per week throughout the summer season. This initiative aims to support incoming tourist traffic and enhance travel between both regions, especially given the growing interest from Romanian tourists eager to explore New Alamein’s diverse tourism and entertainment offerings.
The decision by TAROM to operate flights to New Alamein International Airport reflects the city’s increasing prominence on the international tourism map and underscores the ongoing efforts by Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation to enhance air connectivity with various global destinations. This development is expected to boost operational rates at Egyptian airports and invigorate incoming tourism traffic.
