Spanish media reports have revealed significant developments in the Real Madrid presidential election, which has narrowed down to a contest between Florentino Pérez and Enrique Riquelme, generating considerable anticipation within Madrid’s football community.

The official announcement of the winner is expected in the coming hours, following elections held at the Valdebebas facility, marking its first hosting of the electoral process since 2015.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Florentino Pérez has largely secured his position, garnering 65.84% of the vote compared to Enrique Riquelme’s 34.16%.

British outlet The Athletic confirmed that Pérez is on track to renew his mandate at the helm of Real Madrid with a comfortable margin, reflecting a clear advantage in votes from the general assembly.

Following the conclusion of the election process, an important announcement is anticipated from the club, with reports suggesting preparations are underway to appoint Portuguese manager José Mourinho as the new head coach after Pérez’s confirmed victory.

Florentino Pérez is regarded as one of the most prominent presidents in Real Madrid’s modern history, having held the position multiple times since 2000 until 2006 and again from 2009 until 2026. During his tenures, he has successfully led the club to a remarkable total of 76 domestic and international titles.
