Florentino Pérez Re-elected as Real Madrid President in Recent Elections
Real Madrid has officially announced the results of its presidential elections held on Sunday, which featured a competitive race between Florentino Pérez and Enrique Riquelme for leadership of the club over the next four years.
The voting process began early Sunday morning and continued until the evening, culminating in the counting of votes and the announcement of final results.
Florentino Pérez emerged victorious, securing a new term as president after receiving 65% of the votes compared to Riquelme’s 35%.
In an interview with Spanish newspaper “Marca,” Pérez expressed his delight at the win, stating: “This is a very happy day for Real Madrid fans. Thank you very much for your support; without your votes, this victory would not have been possible.”.
Pérez added, “We won in all polling stations and achieved the second-best result in the history of the club’s elections. Despite some challenges affecting the results, we set an example of transparency and democracy.”.
He continued: “We are proud to have the best players in the world, and with the return of one of our most prominent coaches, José Mourinho, Real Madrid will always belong to its members.”.
Pérez concluded his remarks by reaffirming his commitment to further develop the club, saying: “We aim to remain at the forefront of global clubs and to achieve more titles, including our sixteenth Champions League. I will also work to meet all members’ aspirations, including those who did not vote for me.”.
The club is expected to issue an official statement soon detailing José Mourinho’s contract, along with formal announcements regarding transfers for Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konaté.
