Prime Minister Highlights Coastal Development in Alexandria
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister, along with officials, inspected the development works at the Bir Masoud area in Miami during his visit to Alexandria today.
The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing coastal fronts and tourist areas, aiming to improve citizens’ quality of life while enhancing the aesthetic and cultural aspects of the city. This initiative aligns with the state’s comprehensive vision to upgrade vital areas and transform them into attractive destinations for both residents and tourists.
Engineer Randa El-Manshawi, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, detailed that the development project at Bir Masoud includes creating open terraces overlooking the sea, allowing the public to enjoy the area’s prime location while preserving the historical and archaeological significance of Bir Masoud.
El-Manshawi also highlighted the state’s efforts to provide public spaces that enable citizens to enjoy Alexandria’s corniche and benefit from the city’s natural resources. She noted that this project serves as a comprehensive model for developing tourist and recreational areas in a way that balances preserving the city’s historical identity with enhancing its aesthetic value.
Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Alexandria, assured that daily field monitoring of execution rates continues alongside ongoing coordination with various relevant authorities. This approach aims to ensure project completion meets high standards of quality and efficiency within set timelines, ultimately achieving developmental goals and reinforcing Alexandria’s status as one of Egypt’s key coastal and tourist cities.

Additionally, Major General Osama El-Ganzoury, Head of the Central Authority for Reconstruction, stated that the project also involves establishing a fully serviced tourist and entertainment area that includes commercial shops, recreational zones, and open spaces for visitors. This initiative aims to enhance the area’s tourism appeal while maintaining Alexandria’s distinctive architectural character.

Furthermore, Major General Essam El-Gharably, Head of the North Middle Coast Reconstruction Authority, noted that the Bir Masoud development project is part of a comprehensive vision aimed at revitalizing coastal open areas in a civilized manner. The goal is to optimally utilize this unique location by providing open public spaces and recreational services that enhance its tourism and economic value, making it one of Alexandria’s distinguished destinations along its corniche.
