Written byNoha El Shafie

Dr. Ahmed El-Ansari, the Governor of Giza, conducted a site visit in Abu Nomros to assess the progress of the ongoing projects aimed at developing the Marioutiya axis and the construction of a vehicular overpass above the Abu Nomros railway crossing. The inspection focused on execution rates and adherence to the timeline for project completion.

The governor began his tour by reviewing development work on the Marioutiya axis and its intersections with the Middle Ring Road in Abu Nomros and Badrashin. He examined the project’s status, which includes the reinforcement of the Marioutiya Canal embankment, the construction of 12 bridges along the axis for vehicle passage, as well as four ramps and two surface bridges over the Shabramant Canal to connect the Marioutiya axis with the Middle Ring Road. This development is part of a larger project executed by the General Authority for Roads and Bridges under the Ministry of Transport, aimed at enhancing connectivity between traffic axes and improving traffic efficiency amid rising regional congestion.

During his visit, El-Ansari urged the executing company to adhere to high technical and engineering standards in their work, emphasizing the need for prompt installation of concrete barriers (New Jersey) along both sides of the canal and securing hazardous curves to ensure public safety and driver security.

El-Anasari emphasized that road and bridge projects are fundamental to improving traffic flow and supporting comprehensive development efforts within Giza. These initiatives aim to provide safe traffic axes, enhance road network efficiency, and accommodate urban expansion. He reiterated that it is essential to comply with quality standards and timelines to ensure timely project completion for community benefit.

Accompanying El-Anasari during this tour were Deputy Governor Ibrahim El-Shahabi, Assistant Secretary-General Mohamed Marai, Head of Central Administration for Governor’s Office Affairs Wael Shaaban, Head of Abu Nomros Center Mahmoud Zain, Head of Inspection and Monitoring Mohamed Hosni, along with representatives from the General Authority for Roads and Bridges and Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.
