João Cancelo Pushes to Stay at Barcelona as Al-Hilal Lowers Demands

Written byFerdous Saeed

Spanish media reports indicate that Saudi club Al-Hilal has shown increased flexibility regarding the transfer of Portuguese full-back João Cancelo to Barcelona during the current summer transfer window, reigniting negotiations between the two parties.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Al-Hilal has significantly reduced its financial demands, now willing to sell the player for approximately €10 million, down from an earlier request of around €15 million.

Meanwhile, Cancelo remains committed to staying with Barcelona and is reportedly prepared to lower his salary to facilitate the deal and help the Catalan club comply with financial fair play regulations.

This development is seen as a positive step that could expedite negotiations, especially with the alignment of interests among all parties involved. However, Barcelona still needs to create financial space to officially register the transfer in the upcoming period.
