Wolves Eye Fluminense’s John Kennedy as Four Clubs Show Interest
Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly expressed interest in Fluminense forward John Kennedy as they look to bolster their attacking options.
Manager Rob Edwards is currently restructuring his first-team squad, highlighted by the announcement that Matt Doherty will depart Molineux after 389 appearances over a span of 13 years.
Kieran Trippier is poised to step in as a right-back option, succeeding the Republic of Ireland international, while significant changes are anticipated in the forward line.
Edwards aims to enhance competition for players like Adam Armstrong, who was acquired during the winter transfer window with an eye on the upcoming 2026-27 Championship season.
According to journalist Joao Van Boysen on X, Wolves are targeting another Brazilian talent for their roster.

Who is John Kennedy?
The report indicates that Wolves are among four clubs that have inquired about Fluminense’s willingness to sell their in-form forward.
Kennedy has made a significant impact this season, netting nine goals and providing one assist in just 17 appearances in Brazil’s top division during 2026.
Notably, he has scored all but two of these goals in his last ten matches, drawing attention as a former six-cap Brazil Under-23 international.
Overall, Kennedy has accumulated 37 goals and nine assists across 167 appearances for Fluminense. He also shares a past with Andre, who recently signed a long-term contract with Wolves.
Other clubs reportedly monitoring the situation include Watford and Udinese—both under the same ownership group—as well as Cagliari.

What is John Kennedy’s asking price?
Fluminense is reportedly open to selling Kennedy for an offer exceeding €10 million (£8.64 million).
Despite their relegation from the Premier League, Wolves are well-positioned to meet these financial expectations.
The decision may hinge on whether the former Copa Libertadores winner is willing to compete in England’s second tier.
