Egypt’s Technical Education Model Showcased at Mediterranean Forum

Dr. Abir Ahmed, founder of the Mothers of Egypt Coalition for Educational Advancement, emphasized that Egypt is committed to enhancing its technical education system, a journey that began several years ago.
Speaking at the inaugural “TechSkills Forum”, held today with the participation of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and delegations from 13 countries, she noted that this event underscores the significant advancements in Egypt’s technical education sector. This includes improvements in curricula, laboratories, and facilities, all aimed at better aligning education with local and international labor markets.
Dr. Ahmed highlighted the example of applied technology schools, describing them as a globally integrated educational model that the government is expanding annually, positively impacting Egyptian students and their futures.
She concluded her remarks by stating, “Technical education in Egypt serves as an exemplary model for Mediterranean countries. The TechSkills Forum showcases Egypt’s success in this initiative,” wishing success to all students involved.
The forum was launched today under the auspices of Mohamed Abdel-Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Dr. Giuseppe Valditara, Italian Minister of Education and Merit. It is organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Education and Merit.
Attendees included Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansoua, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with education ministers and delegations from Cyprus, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Spain, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Algeria, Libya, Lebanon, as well as representatives from Egypt and Italy. The event also welcomed ambassadors and representatives from diplomatic missions and industry associations from both nations.
The forum aims to serve as a leading regional platform for fostering dialogue and cooperation among Mediterranean countries in technical education and skill development. This initiative seeks to prepare future generations to meet rapid technological changes and labor market demands while strengthening partnerships between educational institutions and industry for sustainable development.
