Manchester United Targets Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye for Left-Wing Spot

Written byFerdous Saeed

Manchester United has reportedly added Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye to their list of potential left-wing targets as they prepare for the upcoming Champions League season following a third-place finish under manager Michael Carrick.

The club is looking to bolster its squad, particularly in the left-wing position, ahead of the 2026-27 season. Currently, Carrick has Matheus Cunha and Patrick Dorgu as his primary options on the left, while Marcus Rashford is expected to return for pre-season training after completing a loan with Barcelona. However, there are indications that Rashford may leave before the transfer window closes, even if Barcelona does not finalize a new deal with Manchester United.

Manchester United Identifies Ndiaye as Transfer Target

With a focus on acquiring a new left winger, The Mirror reports that Ndiaye has emerged as a viable target for Manchester United. The club is also interested in RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, although signing either player could prove challenging.

Diomande is valued at £89 million and has been heavily linked with Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain. Meanwhile, Arsenal is keen on Rogers, who would command a substantial transfer fee.

The report suggests that Ndiaye is viewed as a ‘more affordable option,’ although Everton currently has no immediate need to sell him since he is under contract until the summer of 2029. Nevertheless, the Senegal international has reportedly declined new contract offers from Everton, providing a potential opportunity for Manchester United.

Ndiaye’s Versatility Could Benefit Manchester United

Manchester United appears eager to replicate their successful strategy from last summer’s transfer window, where they acquired players with Premier League experience who adapted quickly to their new environment. Bryan Mbeumo and Cunha made seamless transitions after joining from Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers, respectively.

Ndiaye would likely be ready to make an immediate impact, having played 65 matches in the Premier League with Everton. The 26-year-old can operate effectively on both flanks and as an attacking midfielder, providing Carrick with valuable versatility should he join Old Trafford.
