He emphasized the initiative’s role in discovering and nurturing talent while developing young people’s abilities to produce a new generation of creatives capable of enriching cultural life. Furthermore, he noted that providing an interactive environment fosters learning and experience exchange that enhances cultural movement and addresses societal issues.

Leila Hassani stated that investing in talent and creativity is an investment in a more diverse and vibrant future for society. She described the program as a significant initiative that offers a supportive space for young artists to develop their skills while allowing them to focus on learning, experimentation, and building sustainable career paths. She added, “We take pride in continuing this program in collaboration with the Abla Art Foundation, which has contributed its expertise in creating an inspiring learning environment over recent years. We are delighted to see today’s outcomes reflected in works that showcase diverse voices and artistic perspectives from a new generation of creatives while underscoring the importance of ongoing investment in young creative energies to enrich Egypt’s cultural scene.”.

Mohamed Abla expressed hope that this initiative would inspire other organizations to seriously support young artists, particularly in the cultural field due to its crucial role in shaping community awareness and fostering positive sustainable impact. He mentioned that through their network, they aim to provide opportunities for cultural exchange among young artists to enhance their artistic experiences while promoting Egyptian culture on a broader scale.

The residency grant serves as a launch point program aimed at supporting emerging artists through intensive creative residencies focused on painting (visual arts), sculpture, and printmaking in Tunis Village, Fayoum. The second edition witnessed significant interest with approximately 600 applications received from across Egypt. A jury selected 43 artists from 13 governorates for participation in a general exhibition that culminated in choosing nine artists.

This current edition builds upon the success of its pilot version which established it as a transformative platform for creativity, community engagement, cultural heritage preservation, and empowering a new generation of artists. The program’s impact extended through its “Big Brother Big Sister” initiative where participating artists shared their artistic expertise with ten children from Fayoum, supporting them in using art as a means of expression.

The celebration also featured performances by Fayoum Children’s Choir and an impressive musical presentation by artist Mai Abdel Aziz.
