Al Ahly Nominates Khaled Mortagy for African Professional Clubs Association Membership

Al Ahly SC has officially nominated Khaled Mortagy, the club’s treasurer, for membership in the African Professional Clubs Association, representing the club in the continental body.

The club announced in a formal statement that its board of directors, led by Mahmoud El Khatib, approved Mortagy’s nomination during a meeting held this evening. This decision reflects the club’s commitment to enhancing its presence and participation in various sports institutions across Africa.

The African Professional Clubs Association is responsible for supporting the interests of its member clubs and contributing to the development of football across the continent. Currently, it is headed by Tanzanian official Harisi Said.

In previous statements, the association’s president noted that African clubs have responded positively to the organization since its inception. He emphasized that while the project is still in its early stages, it requires more time to familiarize clubs with its objectives and functions.

He added that the association aims to expand cooperation with various clubs, which will contribute to enhancing African club competitions and strengthening the professional framework in the upcoming period.
